After months of speculation and leaks, new information has come out that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note phablet will come with a 5.7″ screen, instead of 5.99″ as previously reported.

The current generation Galaxy Note 2 sports a 5.5″, just 0.2″ smaller than the rumored Note 3. This is not yet official but this move could be influenced by the release of Samsung’s Galaxy Mega line, which boasts handsets that have 5.8 and 6.3-inch screens. It may be the strategy of Sammy to keep its Note line at sub-6″ and may reserve the bigger handsets for the Mega line. The new handset may do an “S4” and may actually be slimmer and more compact than its predecessor.

The oft rumored device has been previously reported to come with either an Exynos Octacore CPU, Mali 450 Octacore GPU, and 3GB of RAM, or a Snapdragon 800 2.3GHz Quad-core Krait 400 processor, Adreno 330 GPU, and a new generation LTE chip that supports up to 300Mbps downlink and up to 75Mbps uplink.

Both versions will come with a 13MP rear camera sensor, a 5.99-inch Super AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM, the latest Android Jellybean version, whether 4.2.2 or 4.3 with the trademark Samsung TouchWiz Nature UX and of course, you can’t have a Galaxy Note without an S-Pen.

Recent rumors say that the Korean smartphone giant will be pushing for a July reveal for the new handset, much earlier than the expected September announcement, due to lower than expected S4 sales which means all these rumors may be laid to rest sooner than expected when this new phablet becomes official.
